Swedish Wheat Weaving

  • Folk School Warroad 319 Lake Street Northwest Warroad, MN, 56763 United States (map)

Make and take your own Swedish wheat weaving in this introduction to the five-thousand year old cultural practice of plaiting straw into a harvest blessing. Stalks of wheat from this year’s crop are woven into beautiful designs and often adorned with red ribbons to symbolize poppies, which bloom in the fields in Sweden. See various designs, patterns, and techniques and learn to make a keepsake ornament.

All supplies provided. No experience needed and ages 12 and up welcome. Anyone age 9-12 welcome with an adult. $20
